Remember that story of the dentist in Poland who pulled all of her ex-boyfriend's teeth just days after he dumped her? You know, the one who's facing three years in prison in a criminal investigation? the one that was shared on Facebook over 75,000 times?
Yeah, that one.
It was a hoax. All just a joke, and it anyone in all of the Western news organizations who posted the story has bothered to call the cops in Warsaw (like MSNBC did), they'd have learned all about it.
It is all part of a growing tendency of modern news organizations to just go with stories posted and published by other organizations. Reposting, and rarely with any kind of attribution. Walter Cronkite has been spinning in his grave, and is probably up to several thousand RPM by now.
Shame on them.
