So when does this Crap stop?

As many of you know, I grew up in the gloriously sovereign State of Texas - right in the middle of the bible belt.  Went to church every Sunday (unless I could beg off somehow), but, due to some oversight somewhere, obviously NOT in heaven, I was taught that the activities of religion and those of the State were supposed to be kept separate.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I always thought that this was fairly clear.  Government is prohibited from either making laws favoring religion or DISfavoring religion.  Signing a proclamation as the Governor of a State urging your citizens to get together and pray seems to be just a tad over that line, dontcha think?

Well, I guess the proclivity of some folks to think that the law doesn't apply to them are still at it.

Good to see that the courts still read that Amendment the same way they did when I was a kid!  If they ever stop, we are all in trouble.

Vote for Obama this year, folks, he'll probably make at least one, if not two, appointments to the Supreme Court of the United States.  As far right as the Democrats have been dragged lately, I'd still rather Obama make those appointments than Romney!
